Love Me More

The Websters Dictionary defines Love as the following: “strong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties” Love is such a huge part of our culture. We Love lot’s of things. We Love our pets, our parents, our friends and our children. We may even profess to Love God.

The Bible says :”……..’Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’……” (Luke 10:27 NIV)

Do you Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind?

The Holy Spirit recently placed this very question in my own heart. Do you Love me like you should? Specifically do you Love your children more than me?

I have to say this question made me think, was I placing my Children above my God? I don’t think most parents really think about this. It is kind of scary thought.

I really had to look deep within myself and ask “do I love my kids more than Jesus?” My kids are my world, they are a part of me, if you asked me to give up my daughters for the life of someone else I admit I could not do it.

But this is exactly what God has done for us, He gave us His ONLY Son so that we could live.

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind…. this is a tough concept to wrap our finite minds around.

Make sure you don’t Love your children more than you love God.
